TERRY & RIO WANT PADS FOR PALS

PREMIER League footie rivals Rio Ferdinand and John Terry are teaming up to find Caribbean hideaways for their superstar mates.

The close pals have snapped up neigh-bouring apartments at the exclusive Caicos Beach Club Resort for a bargain £250,000 and reckon the tiny paradise isle would be great for other top footballers.

Now Manchester United star Ferdinand, 29, and Chelsea ace Terry, 27, have helped set up  the New Era Overseas company to encourage  more stars to the millionaires’ mecca South Caicos – part of the Turks and Caicos Islands.

The eight-square mile isle has everything a footie star could want – a golf course, tennis court, spa and even a card and games room.

A pal said: “Everyone knows what a great team they make on the field, but they get on very well off the field too.

“They both fancied teaming up in business and this suits them down to the ground, mixing business with pleasure. The island is a great hideaway for footballers, a getaway from the goldfish bowl of living in England.’’

Both stars have impressive property port-folios. But Rio said: “I’ve always wanted to spend time there because it’s where my dad’s from. Football’s given me the chance to go  further abroad. This is a great opportunity.’’
